A BIT OF HISTORY

An ancestral Berber territory, Bouira is an integral part of Greater Kabylia. In turn, it has been a place of resistance, culture and transmission. Its name is said to come from “Tibouiren”, meaning “the little springs”, in reference to its many springs of pure water. The region has always had a strong local identity, with its Amazigh language, mountain crafts and rural roots.
