You can’t walk through the M’Zab Valley. You have to contemplate it, you have to feel it. Between Ibadite rigor, human warmth and architectural beauty, Ghardaïa is a world apart. A timeless journey, where every alleyway is a lesson in adaptation, and every silence a doorway to the essential.
Nestled at an altitude of over 1,300 metres in the south of the Hoggar massif, Tamanrasset, known simply as Tam, is much more than a town: it's an experience. An oasis town, a crossing point between Algeria, Mali and Niger, and the cradle of the Kel Ahaggar Tuareg culture, Tamanrasset offers a journey to the very edge of the desert and of oneself.

A BIT OF HISTORY

Founded in the early 20th century around a French military post, Tamanrasset quickly became a strategic location. It attracted Tuareg tribes as a gathering point, and saw Father Charles de Foucauld settle in his hermitage at Assekrem, which became a spiritual Mecca. Today, Tam is a major Saharan crossroads, retaining its nomadic roots while opening up to exploratory tourism and trans-Saharan tours.

Last Stop

Tamanrasset is not just a GPS point. It's an elevation. A land where time slows down, where the mountains speak, and where human beings fade away before the majesty of the desert. The Hoggar is not a place to visit. It's to be experienced, felt and meditated upon. Here, the soul breathes more deeply.
